A flush mount masonry veneer anchor for mounting on anexterior wall and tying a masonry veneer to the exteriorwall, the masonry veneer anchor comprising an anchoringportion with anchor holes to receive a suitable fastenerto attach the anchoring portion to an exterior surface ofthe exterior wall and a tie wire holding portionextending perpendicularly from the anchoring portion, thetie wire holding portion having one end connected to theanchoring portion and having a slot in an opposite endfor holding a tie wire for tying the masonry veneer tothe exterior wall, the anchor holes being in line withthe tie wire holding portion to transfer extrusion andcompression loads exerted on the tie wire holding portiondirectly through fasteners in the anchor holes to theexterior wall without an offset of a plane of thetransfer of the forces.
