A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING AND MANAGING PRODUCTION QUALITY AND LIFE CYCLE PERFORMANCE OF BANK NOTES

A method of monitoring and managing production quality and life cycleperformanceof a plurality of bank notes, each of the plurality of bank notes isidentified by a bank noteserial number (BNSN). The method includes: (a) receiving production qualityassuranceinformation for each of the plurality of bank notes from a bank noteproduction component;(b) receiving initial evaluation information for each of the plurality of banknotes from thebank note production component; (c) receiving shipping information from adistributioncomponent after the plurality of bank notes are distributed to a plurality ofinstitutions; (d)receiving inspection information providing bank note fitness results for a sub-set of theplurality of bank notes from an inspection component after the sub-set of theplurality of banknotes are temporarily removed from general circulation; (e) receiving banknote circulationinformation for a further sub-set of the plurality of bank notes from theinspection component;(f) receiving financial institution deposit information for deposited banknotes from theinspection component; and (g) creating and storing in an analytics component abank note lifecycle record representing an aggregate of information received in each ofsteps (a) to (f) toprovide life cycle information for each the plurality of bank notes.
