The invention relates to a die stock (10) having: • - a substantially cylindrical holder (12) having a plurality of receiving grooves (24) for receiving a detachably arranged cutting insert (26) and each detachably arranged clamping wedge (28), wherein each of these receiving grooves (24) extends in the axial direction (20) from a first end face (32) of the holder (12) extending transversely to the axial direction (20), and in the radial direction (30) from an inner side (22) of the holder (12) facing the longitudinal axis (18) of the holder, wherein each cutting insert (26) has at least one cutting edge (54) on a front side (62) substantially facing the longitudinal axis (18) of the holder, wherein the clamping wedges (28) are arranged in the respective receiving groove (24) laterally next to the cutting inserts (26) in the circumferential direction (34) transverse to the axial direction (20) and the radial direction (30); and • - a retaining means (36) for each receiving groove (24) for fixing the clamping wedges (28) and the cutting inserts (26) in the receiving groove (24) concerned.
