The invention relates to a lever shaft structural arrangement for the improved operational characteristics of reciprocating engines. It is characterized in that the alternating unit (I) has two centres of motion (IF1, IF2), each of which is connected to the first centre of motion (4F1) of a balance (4) with three centres of motion, the first centres of motion (4F2) of the balances (4) are connected to the first centre of motion (5F1) of a crank-shaft (5) with at least two centres of motion, and the second centres of motion (5F2) of the crank-shafts (5) are on the geometric centres of motion (11F1) of the main axes (11), the third centres of motion (4F3) of the balances (4) are shared with the first centres of motion (6F1) of a top retaining rod (6) with two centres of motion, and the second centre of motion (6F2) of the top retaining rod (6) is shared with the first centre of motion (7F1) of a bottom retaining rod (7) with at least two centres of motion, and the second centre of motion (7F2) of the bottom retaining rod (7) is shared with the centre of motion (11F1) of the main axis (11).˙
