The present invention relates to a device and method for managing favored sounds through the analysis of emotions, and determines the emotional state of a user hearing sounds in order to classify and manage the user's favored sounds to provide a highly satisfying sound service. The device for managing favored sounds according to the present invention includes a sound output unit, a biological information collection unit, an emotional state determination unit, a sound classification unit and a sound management unit. The sound output unit plays and outputs a sound so that a user may hear the sound. The biological information collection unit collects, in real time, biological information generated depending on the emotional state of the user. The emotional state determination unit determines the emotional state of the user in real time based on the collected biological information. Depending on the determined emotional state of the user, the sound classification unit classifies the corresponding sound as a favored or disfavored sound. In addition, the sound managing unit removes the disfavored sounds and adds the favored sounds to a list of favored sounds.
