The present invention provides a method for generating a control command based on body motion and a control command generation device capable of generating a control command in which the intention of an operator is accurately reflected. A reference motion for moving a reference portion (17) of the body in a reference direction and a control command are correlated, and the control command is generated on the basis of the motion of the reference portion (17). Prepared is a numerical expression or a database for correlating a first motion (52) that includes the reference motion, and a prescribed component included in a second motion (53), which is the actual motion of the reference portion (17). The body motion of an operator is measured; the measured motion is assumed to be the second motion and is converted to the first motion by using the numerical expression or the database; and the control command is calculated on the basis of the component of the reference motion included in the converted first motion.
