The purpose of the present invention is to provide an embossed carrier tape which enables processing regions to be highly accurately positioned in processing positions. This embossed carrier tape (1) is provided with a plurality of embossed recessed sections (12) on the main surface (11a) of a tape body (11). Objects to be accommodated are accommodated in the plurality of embossed recessed sections (12). A plurality of positioning recessed sections (13), into which positioning jigs (120) fit, are provided on the main surface (11a) of the tape body (11). In the positioning recessed sections (13), first inner surfaces (13a) and second inner surfaces (13b) are formed in tapered shapes such that the cross-sectional areas that are parallel to the main surface (11a) of the tape body (11) gradually enlarge towards opening sections.
