The present invention relates to a method for integrating meta-models, and more specifically to a method for integrating meta-models to ensure interoperability of UML models for IEC 61850 and 61970 in a smart grid. All IEC 61970 smart grid application developers using IEC 61850 data source according to the present invention can more easily ensure interoperability between the applications as data is used by referencing a single integrated UML IEC 61850/61970 model, and have the benefit of being able to respond actively to changes in international standards as a single UML model, dynamically reflecting the continuously modified IEC standards, is referenced.
