A gasification plant for producing a synthesis gas by gasification of solid, carbonaceous feedstocks, for example of coal or coke, comprising a fixed-bed pressure gasification reactor which is directly connected with a pressure lock for discharging the ash, wherein the pressure lock can be pressurized with steam and wherein the plant comprises a steam generation system for supplying the reactor with gasification steam and for supplying the pressure lock with pressurization steam, wherein the steam system is designed such that it can supply steam with different pressure, temperature and degree of superheating, each for the use as gasification steam or pressurization steam.
