The present invention provides coated printing paper for industrial ink-jet printers which comprises base paper and, formed on at least one surface of the base paper, a coating layer comprising a pigment and a binder as major components, wherein the base paper contains lightweight calcium carbonate which is aggregates of spindle-shaped lightweight calcium carbonate having an average minor-axis length of 0.3-0.4 µm and a ratio of average major-axis length/average minor-axis length of 2.0-7.0 and which has an average secondary-particle diameter of 3.0-5.5 µm, and further contains at least one material selected from the group consisting of cationic resins and water-soluble salts of polyvalent cations, and the coating layer contains heavy calcium carbonate having an average particle diameter of 0.1-0.28 µm in an amount of 60 parts by mass or more per 100 parts by mass of the total pigment contained in the coating layer.
