The mixing device (mixer) is used to produce mixture products in the form of beverages by mixing a liquid base component GK, generally water, with an additive component ZK (mixed syrup), which in turn is produced as a flavoring and/or coloring and/or preserving component from a plurality of individual components K1 - K5 by mixing, and to carbonate and temporarily store the particular mixture product. For this purpose, the mixing device 1 can be divided functionally into a plurality of device or system sections 1.1 - 1.4, of which the system section 1.1 is used to prepare the base component GK or the water by degassing and the system section 1.2 is used to add the one or more additive components ZK to the base component GK in a metered manner and the system section 1.3 is used to provide the additive component ZK by mixing said component from the individual components K1 - K5 according to the particular recipe specified.
