An automatic group optimization system for power battery boxes in electric vehicle battery swap stations, and an operation method therefor. The system comprises: a power battery information real-time processing module (1) which collects information about a battery box swapped from an electric vehicle in real time and conducts transmission, analysis and storage on the collected information; a group policy library configuration module (2) which provides a group policy configuration entry for a power battery box group automatic optimization scheduling module (4); a battery group information database (3) which receives the query of the power battery box group automatic optimization scheduling module (4) and a change to power battery group information; and the power battery box group automatic optimization scheduling module (4) which receives a battery swap command, obtains a group policy and a calculation priority, and changes the existing group information which does not satisfy the group policy according to the requirements of the group policy. By way of reasonably configuring a battery box group policy, the battery box group information is dynamically adjusted by means of the operation method, thereby solving the problem of an entire battery group stopping due to the changes of individual performances, so that the utilization rate of a power battery is improved.
