In order to economize on components, the signal generator (8) comprises a transmitting device (9) for modulating the input signals of both code generators (7.1, 7.2), the transmitting device (9) being connected to circuit connection adaption devices (10.1, 10.2) on one of the two access ends (5.1, 5.2) of the track section (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) via travel direction-specific outputs (11.1, 11.2).
