The aim of the invention is to provide an insertion aid which allows the tracheal cannula to be positioned correctly in the patient in the alignment to be used with an optimal airflow without causing irritation or immune responses in the patient and without requiring a stabilization of the arc-shaped hollow tube between the tip and the handle of the insertion aid by means of a metal tube. This is achieved in that the insertion aid consists of an atraumatic tip (1), a handle (2), an arc-shaped body (3) which is located between the tip (1) and the handle (2), and a guide wire (4) which runs through a through-hole (11) in the tip (1), along the body (3), and through a through-hole (21) in the handle (2). The invention is characterized in that the body (3) is designed as a solid body with an outer groove (31) which runs on the inner face of the outer casing of the body (3) between the through-hole (11) in the tip (1) and the through-hole (21) in the handle (2) and thereby virtually completely receives the guide wire (4) which runs from the through-hole (11) of the tip (1) to the through-hole (21) in the handle (2).
