The invention relates to a device for picking up and loading sweepings, having a collecting container (17) and a pick-up and loading unit (3), which is configured to pick up sweepings from the ground and to convey said sweepings into the collecting container (17), the pick-up and loading unit (3) having, mounted on a frame (15): a pick-up apparatus (4), which is configured to pick up the sweepings from the ground, and a conveying apparatus (5) having an entrance (7), via which the sweepings picked up by the pick-up apparatus (4) is received in the conveying apparatus (5), an exit (12), via which the sweepings is output to the collecting container (17), and a conveying shaft (9) which extends at least in sections between the entrance (7) and the exit (12) and is delimited on opposite flat sides by web belts (10, 11) that are guided via respective assigned rollers (10a, 10b; 11a,...11d) mounted on the frame (15) and that are movable in opposite directions during operation to convey the sweepings along the conveying shaft (9). The invention further relates to a pick-up and loading unit for picking up sweepings from the ground.
