Disclosed is a directional drilling arrangement comprising a drill head (2) arranged at the end of a drill string (3),wherein the drill head (2) includes direction means (4) for directing the directional drilling arrangement in a specific direction. The directional drilling arrangement further comprises probe means (5) for extracting a sample of the ground in which the directional drilling arrangement is drilling, wherein the probe means (5) is arranged to be pushed out of the directional drilling arrangement in front of the direction means (4). The directional drilling arrangement further comprises locking means (6) for locking the position of the probe means (5) in relation to the drill head (2). A method for extracting an underground sample by means of a directional drilling arrangement having a drill head (2) arranged at the end of a drill string (3) is also disclosed.
