APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANAGING USER REVIEWS CORRESPONDING TO ELECTRONIC PUBLICATION

Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for managing user reviews corresponding to the description of an electronic publication (EPUB). A copyright information receiving unit receives, from a copyright management server which is connected through a communication network, copyright information including identification information, the title, and the version of EPUB materials. An opinion DB generation unit generates an EPUB material database (DB), which is a database for each material, based on the material information which has been received. The EPUB material DB is saved to a saving unit. The opinion DB management unit categorizes and manages user reviews, which have been received from user terminals, according to at least one criterion from among each of the EPUB materials, update version of the EPUB materials, content in each of the EPUB materials, user review scores, service providers, and date. The opinion DB management unit also provides, as a reply to a user review request submitted from a user terminal, the user reviews on the EPUB material requested by a user which have been extracted from the EPUB material DB. According to the present invention, user reviews for new editions and content can be managed by using the structure of EPUBs, which can be utilized in the marketing of EPUB materials.
