EDIBLE OIL COMPOSITIONS TO TREAT ORAL COMPLICATIONS AND METHODS OF USING SAME

Method and compositions for alleviating discomfort from oral complications associated with cancer chemotherapy or radiation therapy are provided. The compositions comprise a mixture of several different edible oils and water with a melting temperature in the range from 35 degrees Fahrenheit to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. The compositions are provided orally, e.g., through a spray bottle or in a frozen format, to reduce physical discomfort and provide calories, energy or nutrition, e.g., to a patient experiencing oral mucositis or stomatitis.
