An augmented reality provision system is provided with: a storage device for storing content information; a position state acquisition unit for acquiring position information indicating the current position of a portable terminal device carried by a user and acquiring state information indicating the state of the portable terminal device; an augmented reality configuration unit for selecting fictitious information that configures augmented reality from the content information stored in the storage device in accordance with the acquired position information and the acquired state information; and a display unit for expressing augmented reality by outputting the selected fictitious information.
