A multilingual display support device (100) receives the input of a constituent component that constitutes a screen and that of a first character string which is written in a first language and is displayed on the constituent component, and at such time, the multilingual display support device converts the first character string to a second character string written in a second language. When the second character string is displayed on the constituent component, the multilingual display support device (100) determines whether a layout will become jumbled, and if it is determined that the layout will become jumbled, the device presents a plurality of solutions including the option to change the second character string, and enacts the solution that has been selected by a user from among the plurality of solutions that were presented.
