For automatically detecting insertion of a screwdriver bit, the invention provides a screwdriver bit which has a compressed-air feedthrough that passes centrally through the screwdriver bit and leaves centrally from a screwdriver tip of the screwdriver bit. The screwdriver bit makes it possible to detect in a reliable process whether it has been inserted completely, for example into a hexagon socket. By directing compressed air centrally through the tip of the screwdriver, there is a significant increase in the dynamic (back)pressure when the tip of the screwdriver makes contact with the bottom of a hole. This increase in pressure can be detected and used to detect insertion. The screwdriver bit advantageously uses the physical effect of measuring the difference in pressure. This effect can be used independently of a length of an internal profile of a screw. Furthermore, the screwdriver bit can be retrofitted with little effort for different applications. The screwdriver bit ensures a very reliable process and is insensitive to dirt and dust, since it is self-cleaning. Its function is not impaired by magnetic or electrostatic charging. Furthermore, its function can be easily monitored.
