A sleeping box (10) for installation in an aircraft comprises a casing (12) which is suitable for accommodating a person located in a reclining position parallel to a longitudinal axis (L_G) of said casing (12) and which has an access aperture (14) in the area of a front side which extends perpendicularly to said longitudinal axis (L_G) of the casing (12). The sleeping box (10) also comprises a fastening apparatus (16) which is configured to fasten the sleeping box (10) within a passenger cabin (18) of the aircraft in such a way that the longitudinal axis (L_G) of the casing (12) extends perpendicularly to a longitudinal axis (L_P) of said passenger cabin (18) and the access aperture (14) of said casing (12) borders on an aisle (33) which is present within said passenger cabin (18).
