The present invention provides equipment for widening a railway tunnel considering the operation of a train, and a method thereof. The equipment comprises excavation equipment, a working vehicle, equipment for cutting an existing lining, a railway facility, and equipment for assembling a new lining, thereby safely widening the railway tunnel during the operation of a train; is easily applied to a rock having a joint and a crushing zone thereon, when unsupported soil or water exists; reduces the generation of noise and vibration during construction of widening the railway tunnel; does not need to install a separate rail; has a separate facility to treat muck to correspond to a high volume of excavation; and is capable of being applied to an electric railroad using an overhead electric power line by a streetcar line facility.
