The present invention relates to a method for enhancing anti-cancer activity of aloe emodin and to a composition for preventing, treating, or alleviating cancer, including aloe emodin having anti-cancer activity enhanced by the same method. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for enhancing the anti-cancer activity of aloe emodin by irradiation. According to the present invention, the anti-cancer activity of aloe emodin is enhanced by an irradiation technology without complicated processes. Therefore, aloe emodin can be advantageously used in various fields such as anti-cancer agents or health foods.
