The present invention relates to a process for continuously producing low hydrolyzed polyester granules from a high viscosity polyester melt, said process being characterized in that the reduction in polycondensation of the polyester melt to polyester granules is less than 2% . The present invention also relates to a polyester granule produced by the above method and an apparatus for producing the granule.
