Disclosed is an apparatus for damping and generating vortex induced vibration of an ocean riser. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for damping and generating vortex induced vibration comprises: a pipe-shaped riser unit arranged from a hull to the ocean floor; a generation rotor unit arranged to be rotated to the riser unit; a plurality of blade units arranged from an upper portion to a lower portion of the generation rotor unit, and coupled to the generation rotor unit to be rotated by the flow of seawater and to rotate the generation rotor unit; and a seawater generation unit arranged to generate electricity by a rotational force of the generation rotor unit which is rotated by the blade units.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
