The present invention relates to a method for using 3D geometric data for virtual reality image presentation and control in a 3D space. According to the method, a 3D modeling data of an object is related by using a set of key geometric parameters for each frame of photo images and a collection of the photo images of the object photographed at viewing angles different from each other. The method can be used to display a high-quality and photo-realistic 3D image on a computing device in real time. Moreover, according to the method, the 3D geometric data for a physical application using an automatic or manual photo-imaging-recording system are provided. The 3D modeling data, which have the same hardware system or are imported from an independent 3D geometric scanning system of the same object, are composed into a complete package by a manual, semi-automatic, or automatic software tool. The 3D modeling data are displayed by a viewing program having a 3D environment. In addition, the method can be applied to a stereoscopic system and can provide a real-time physical manipulation performance, high quality, and a realistic visual effect.
