The present invention relates to: a negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, wherein a metal oxide represented by Chemical Formula 1 and a carbon nano fiber disposed on the surface of the metal oxide are included; a method for producing the same; and a lithium secondary battery including the same. [Chemical Formula 1] M_xO_y In Chemical Formula 1, M is Ni, Mn, Co, Fe, Al, Mg, Zn, Ti, or a combination thereof, and x:y is 1:0.5 to 1:2.
