The present invention relates to an impact tester for free fall, which comprises: a pair of guide rail members in parallel; a specimen fixing block freely falling along the guide rail members; an impact programing tip generating a signal calculating an impact value of the specimen fixing block freely falling; a position rising unit forcibly raising the specimen fixing block to be restricted to a predetermined position; and a restriction releasing unit releasing the restriction of the specimen fixing block to be raised to the predetermined position for the specimen fixing block to freely fall. According to the present invention, unlike a conventional technique, the restriction of the raised specimen fixing block is automatically released to provide convenience to an impact test. Durability of a brake holding the specimen fixing block rebounded after free fall to be fixated is improved for maintenance costs to be reduced.
