The present invention relates to a system and a method for remotely measuring the size of a liquid particle and the total amount thereof from a remote distance and more particularly, to a system and a method for simply, accurately and without a time limit, measuring the size and the total amount of a liquid particle, and a change amount thereof from a remote distance with regard to a cloud water droplet particle and so on. Disclosed in the present system is a system for remotely measuring characteristics of a liquid particle, comprising: a transmission unit for irradiating a laser signal of three or more types of wavelengths to an object to be measured; a receiving unit for receiving a laser signal which is irradiated by the transmission unit and scattered by the object to be measured; and a processing unit for obtaining an extinction coefficient from the scattered laser signal of the wavelengths which are received by the receiving unit and for calculating, through a normalization, the size of a liquid particle which is included in the object to be measured. According to the present invention, the invention can overcome limitations of a measurement time zone and a measurement distance and has the effect of realizing a system and a method for remotely measuring the size and the total amount of a liquid particle such as a cloud water droplet and so on.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
