The present invention relates to a hot dip zinc alloy plated steel sheet which is widely used for vehicles, home appliances, and construction materials and a method for manufacturing the same using a Zn-Al-Mg based hot dip zinc alloy plating bath, wherein a tiny amount of As or Rb is added to the plating bath to inhibit the oxidation of Mg in the plating bath in order to make the hot dip zinc alloy plated steel sheet have excellent surface property and corrosion resistance.
