The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing metallic fuel slugs preventing the evaporation of a volatile element and the metallic fuel slugs manufactured thereby, especially providing a method for manufacturing metallic fuel slugs comprising: a (step 1) step of primarily heating a melting crucible into which a metallic fuel material is inserted under a vacuum atmosphere; a (step 2) step of secondarily heating the metallic fuel material under an inert atmosphere; and a (step 3) step of filling molten metal into a mold. The method for manufacturing metallic fuel slugs according to the present invention can melt the metallic fuel material under a vacuum atmosphere up to a certain temperature, melt the metallic fuel material under an inert atmosphere from a certain temperature such that it prevents a volatile nuclide of the metallic fuel material from being volatilized, thereby minimizing fuel loss and stabilizing steps. In addition, molding is carried out by an improved injection molding and a mold for injecting the metallic fuel material includes a bent part such that the metallic fuel material can be prevented from being introduced into a suction line after filling the metallic fuel material and resistant pressure in the mold can be removed, and a vacuum purging step is included such that the metallic fuel can be smoothly filled. Therefore, mass production is possible through the molding and it is possible to produce good metallic fuel slugs having excellent remote handing properties due to a simple process. An advantage of advancing the common use of a sodium fast reactor is achieved thereby.
