Disclosed are a touch key module for preventing a hovering touch and a method for preventing a hovering touch. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the touch key module for preventing a hovering touch comprises: an electrode unit including a ground electrode formed on the lower surface of a substrate, a first electrode formed on the upper surface of the substrate and arranged in a first region of the upper surface thereof to detect a touch by the body of a user or a capacitance touch pen, and a second electrode formed on the upper surface of the substrate and spaced apart from the first electrode to have regular intervals in a second region, which surrounds at least a portion of the first region, to detect whether there is a hovering touch of the body of the user or the capacitance touch pen; and a signal processing portion which performs a function corresponding to a touch event, by using a first digital counter value received through the first electrode and a second digital counter value received through the second electrode, or ignores the touch event when the touch event through the electrode portion occurs.
