摘要

The present invention relates to a composition containing nepetin as an active ingredient isolated from Inulae Flos extracts for preventing and treating inflammation and allergic diseases. A compound of the present invention shows inflammation and allergic effects by inhibiting production of NO, PGE_2, and IL-1 and IL-6 cytokines secreted from macrophages after stimulating LPS, production of -HEX, LTC_4, and COX-2 dependent PGD_2 secreted from mast cells, and production of antihistamines in an experiment on a localized skin allergic reaction by using animal models, thereby being used for a composition for preventing and treating inflammation and allergic diseases.
