Provided is a method for manufacturing activated carbon using peat moss and coal tar pitch. The method of the present invention comprises: a first step for pulverizing and mixing coal tar pitch and peat moss; a second step for plasticizing the mixed coal tar pitch and peat moss; a third step for re-plasticizing the plasticized coal tar pitch and peat moss; a fourth step for secondarily pulverizing the re-plasticized coal tar pitch and peat moss; a fifth step for collecting the secondarily pulverized coal tar pitch and peat moss, and collecting the same as powdered activated carbon; and a sixth step for adjusting a moisture content by spraying water to the collected powdered activated carbon. The present invention has effects of: manufacturing activated carbon having excellent adsorptive power by mixing the coal tar pitch which is a by-product of coal, and the peat moss which is a porous material; and recycling into fuel such as activated carbon by mixing a by-product and a low-priced material.
