The present invention relates to a lens inspecting apparatus with an IR coating layer which includes the IR coating layer on one side of a base glass and an AR coating layer on the other side of the base glass and an inspecting method thereof. The present invention provides a method and apparatus for inspecting the surfaces of two coating layers formed on both sides thereof without turning the upper and lower sides of the lens by using a light source which transmits the IR coating layer and a light source with a wavelength reflected on the IR coating layer. The lens inspecting apparatus with the IR coating layer and the inspecting method thereof according to the present invention reduce inspecting time by inspecting the AR coating layer coated on the lower side thereof which is not turned over after the IR coating layer coated on the upper side thereof is inspected when the lens with the IR coating layer is inspected.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
