The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for alleviating or treating gastric cancer, comprising an inhibitor which inhibits expression of a SerpinA1 gene or a SerpinA1 protein as an active ingredient. In addition, provided are a method for providing information about a treatment effect of gastric cancer, comprising a step of measuring expression level of a SerpinA1 gene or a SerpinA1 protein in a sample after treating any gastric cancer, a diagnostic kit for confirming a treatment effect of gastric cancer, a method for inhibiting expression of a SerpinA1 gene or a SerpinA1 protein, and a method for alleviating or treating gastric cancer.
