The present invention relates to a top bracing for a ship engine using a flow mode and a shear mode of a magneto-rheological (MR) fluid installed between a ship engine and a ship hull structure to reduce vibration generated by the ship engine. The top bracing for the ship engine using a flow mode and a shear mode of a magneto-rheological fluid comprises: a cylinder connected to the ship hull structure; a piston connected to the ship engine, moving back and forth in the cylinder; a first moving disk connected to the piston, moving back and force in the cylinder in accordance to a movement of the piston; a second moving disk installed side by side with the first moving disk in the cylinder in an axial direction of the piston to form a flow passage between the first moving disk and the second moving disk; a magneto-rheological (MR) fluid filled in the cylinder; and a magnetic induction coil to generate a magnetic field to change a rheological property of the magneto-rheological fluid flowing through the flow passage between the first moving disk and the second moving disk.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
