The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for removing stench materials. The apparatus effectively removes stench materials by microorganisms as a microorganism film is formed on a thread surface of a string filter, which is mounted inside a housing for introducing and discharging stench gas and in which threads are densely arranged in a vertical direction in a frame of a predetermined shape, and the stench gas passes through the string filter. Therefore, the possibility of causing various civil complaints to occur due to a stench can be eliminated; a pleasant work environment can be maintained; and air pollution can be prevented.
