The present invention relates to a method for providing information, which is necessary for diagnosing or prognosing cardiovascular complication, and a kit for diagnosing the cardiovascular complication. The method comprises the following steps of: (a) obtaining a sample including blood separated from a subject; and (b) measuring the concentration of plasma metabolites selected from a group consisting of L-leucine, palmitic amid, L-octanoylcarnitine, decanoylcarnitine, lactosylceramide, phosphatidicolin (18:2/18:2), and lyso-phosphatidicolin (18:2). According to the present invention, concentration of the plasma metabolites selected from the group consisting of L-leucine, palmitic amid, L-octanoylcarnitine, decanoylcarnitine, lactosylceramide, phosphatidicolin (18:2/18:2) in plasma of an overweight subject has correlation with the amount of the blood vessel stiffness. Lyso-phosphatidicolin (18:2) has a negative correlation with the blood vessel stiffness. The danger of the cardiovascular complication is high since the blood vessel stiffness is high when the concentration of plasma metabolites having the positive correlation is high or the concentration of plasma metabolites having the negative correlation is low. Therefore, the method of the present invention has an effect capable of usefully diagnosing the cardiovascular complication by analyzing the concentration of diverse plasma in the overweight subject and a value of a parameter and by determining the blood vessel stiffness.
