RF FRONT END WITH ASYMMETRIC RF SWITCH UNIT

The present invention relates to an RF front end with an asymmetric RF switch unit connected to an antenna of a wireless communication device. The RF front end includes the asymmetric RF switch unit for actively controlling insertion loss on two separate frequency bands. The RF front end includes: an impedance matching element or elements in a first group; an impedance matching element or elements in a second group; a first RF switch unit having multiple MOSFETs wherein the impedance matching element or elements among the first group and the antenna connect electrically to the antenna; and a second RF switch unit having multiple MOSFETs wherein the impedance matching element or elements among the second group and the antenna connect electrically to the antenna, wherein the cell size of the first RF switch unit is defined by multiplying the gate length of the MOSFET by the gate width and is different from the cell size of the second RF switch unit. Accordingly, the present invention can control insertion loss for different two frequency bands.
