The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a three-dimensional (3D) paper-based microfluidic device, which facilitates three-dimensional movements of a fluid in a single paper. The method for manufacturing a 3D paper-based microfluidic device comprises the steps of: (A) printing patterns for forming 3D fluidic channels on both sides of a paper using wax printing technique; and (B) heating the pattern wax-printed in the step (A) so that the following inequalities are satisfied: (1) Hhf + Hhb = THK, (2) Hhb THK, and (3) Hhf THK, wherein Hhf is the height of the wax pattern on the front side after heating, Hhb is the height of the wax pattern on the back side after heating, and THK is the thickness of the wax pattern-printed paper after heating.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
