The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for transmitting sensing information, and an apparatus and method for collecting sensing information using caller id and callback modem in wired communications network. The sensing information transmission apparatus includes: a sensor detecting unit receiving sensing information from at least one sensor; a controller classifying the received sensing information by the sensor detecting unit into periodic report information and instant report information; and a modem unit transmitting the sensing information to a sensing collecting apparatus at a constant period when the sensing information is periodic report to end a call at a time when a caller number corresponding to the sensing information transmitting apparatus and then transmitting the periodic information through modem connection at the time of connection request from the sensing information collecting apparatus, and when the sensing information is instant report information, transmitting the instant report information by modem-connecting to the sensing information collecting apparatus. According to the present invention, a burden of communications cost can be saved for a user using a wired communications network and mass periodic or instant sensing information generated simultaneously can be transmitted without an error in a digital communications protocol message type by using a minimum communications lines used by a plurality of users.
