The present invention relates to a lens assembly and an optical system for broadband infrared rays and, more specifically, to a lens assembly and an optical system for broadband infrared rays, which pass all the shortwave and midwave infrared rays. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an optical system for broadband infrared rays includes: a lens assembly for shortwave and midwave infrared rays corresponding to correct the aberration while transmitting near-infrared rays of more than 0.5 m to less than 1.5 m and mid-infrared rays of more than 1.5 m to less than 6 m through the same optical path; a beam splitter configured to split the transmitted broadband infrared rays into shortwave and midwave infrared rays; shortwave infrared detecting unit configured to detect the split shortwave infrared rays; and a midwave infrared detecting unit configured to detect the split midwave infrared rays.
