A food waste weight management system with failure diagnosis function and the method thereof

The present invention relates to a system and a method for managing weight of food waste that can measure the weight of the food waste by self-diagnosis and compensation when a load cell for measuring the weight of the food waste is out of order. The system includes a first load cell for detecting the weight of food waste inputted in a food waste collecting device to output a first analog value; a second load cell for detecting the weight of the food waste inputted in the food waste collecting device to output a second analog value; a first multiplexing unit for receiving the first and second analog values; a second multiplexing unit for receiving the first and second analog values; a first A/D processing unit connected to the first multiplexing unit to convert the analog value outputted from the first multiplexing unit into a digital value; a second A/D processing unit connected to the second multiplexing unit to convert the analog value outputted from the second multiplexing unit into a digital value; and a processing unit for determining the weight of the food waste inputted in the collecting device according to the digital values processed by the first and second A/D processing unit. Even though any one of the first and second load cells or one of the first and second A/D processing units is out of order, it is possible to precisely recognize the weight of the food waste.
