An embodiment of the present invention provides a bismuth-molybdenum-iron-nickel multi-component metal oxide catalyst including bismuth, molybdenum, iron, and nickel at a certain mole ratio. More specifically, the bismuth-molybdenum-iron-nickel multi-component metal oxide catalyst has a simple structure because phosphorous (P) is not included in the catalyst. In addition, the bismuth-molybdenum-iron-nickel multi-component metal oxide catalyst provides an excellent 1,3-butadiene yield, has a long life span, and is highly stable. The bismuth-molybdenum-iron-nickel multi-component metal oxide catalyst is represented by chemical formula 1.
