A collection management system is provided to monitor the control status of collections including specific relics, art works, and exhibits which are displayed at museums, exhibit halls, and art galleries or collections in museum storages, to provide the information on their control status in real time, and to enable the directors to accurately identify the current status of the relics or collections to control the same. The collection management system comprises the following: a plurality of position information providing devices arranged with a certain interval, which transmit the pertinent position information and collection information; a reader which receives the position information and collection information transmitted by the position information providing devices; an entry check device installed at the entrance of a place with the position information providing devices, which checks the entry and exit of a registered director through the entrance and creates the entry information on the basis of the results of check; and a collections control server which receives and saves the position information and collection information entered from the reader, receives and saves the entry information from the entry check device, transmits the collection information through a director terminal or transmits, when the entry information is requested, the entry information by including the position information with collection information to a director terminal or provides the entry information to the director terminal.
