Overlapping band clamp for connecting a pipe end value is included in the band, tightening mechanism, and gaskets. The band has a second side section extending from the other side of the first side section, the ribs extending from the sides of the ribs, the ribs protruding in the radial direction. Tightening mechanism operates so as to connect the band and tighten the band, and the gasket is accommodated in the ribs. In one embodiment, the axial width of the side section is in the range with respect to the axial width of the ribs, the side section of the alternative embodiment is inclined inwardly with respect to the axis of the band.
