A switch device based on OpenFlow includes one or more input ports inputting flow, one or more output ports outputting flow, a memory saving a wild card rule applied to flow, and a control unit processing input flow according to the wild card rule and measuring a hash index about an IP field of the processed flow through one or more hash functions, wherein the control unit measures a hash index value by inputting each of the IP fields to each of the hash functions, saves the measured hash index value in a plurality of bloom filters generated in the memory as each flow unit, and detects whether flow is elephant flow or not based on the hash index value of each flow saved in each of the bloom filters.
