The present invention provides a finger vein recognition system having a double security function and a controlling method for the same. The controlling method for the finger vein recognition system comprises: a second step of, by a control module part of the finer vein recognition system, when a user allows his/her finger to make close contact on a main finger vein recognition part to release a security equipment after a first step, comparing finger vein information on the user, which is recognized through a finger vein recognition module, with finger vein recognition information stored in a memory part, discharging a comparison result through a voice module part, and releasing a lock state of a door lock device part when a finger vein authentication is achieved; and a third step of, by the control module part, when the finger vein authentication fails in the second step, separately photographing an authentication failure, who fails to obtain the finger vein authentication, through a camera module part to be stored and when an authentication manager requests checking, providing photographic information on the authentication failure to an external system or a display. According to the present invention, an authentication process is performed through finger vein recognition, and when authentication fails, the authentication failure is photographed by the camera module and stored. In addition, information on the photographed authentication failure is transmitted to a preset smartphone in real time. Therefore, even without installation of an additional security device, the security function for a place where the finger vein recognizing system is installed can be thoroughly performed, thereby maximizing security quality of the finger vein recognition system.
